Energy Management Systems and Demand Response Controls

Building monitoring and control technologies are rapidly changing and we make a point of keeping up with these changes in order to better provide our services to customers. QuEST staff has worked with most of the building automation and control system vendor products, including Johnson Controls, Siemans, Automated Logic, Staefa, Trane, Delta, Andover, Honeywell, and Alerton. We are very familiar with how these systems are structured, and their capabilities and limitations. Through our RCx projects, we have performed numerous assessments and functional tests of control system capabilities, including sequences of operations, trending, sensor placement and calibration. We have worked with control technicians to implement recommended control strategies, set up and access trended control points, and remotely access and monitor system operations. Recently, we have worked with new control products, including wireless systems that enable pneumatic devices to be controlled within the digital EMS. In addition to improved energy management, these systems enable effective demand response control strategies to be implemented.
