Core Values

QuEST understands that energy efficiency is a key factor in the fight against the CO2 emissions that contribute to global warming; we also believe that we have a responsibility to help reduce energy use in the U.S., which remains the world's largest energy consumer. Our approach to finding energy solutions is rooted in a belief that what is good for the environment can be good for business. In fact, QuEST regularly achieves more energy savings across diverse sectors than other companies of comparable size.

At QuEST we make a difference in the world every day.

Focus on people

The success of any company depends on its continued ability to attract and retain the best talent.

QuEST’s core policies are grounded by:

  • Respect for workers' rights and a healthy work environment
  • Emphasis on professional development through tuition reimbursement, continued education, and a sabbatical program
  • A robust profit-sharing plan and full employee benefits
  • Commitment to equal opportunity employment, including promotion of DVBE subcontractors
  • Job creation through internships and ‘green job’ programs in the community

Focus on sustainable business

QuEST’s operations are rooted in ethical business strategies designed to ensure long-term performance and sustainability.

Simply put, we practice what we preach:

  • We are a bike-friendly office and a member of the East Bay Bicycle Coalition.
  • We encourage public transportation.
  • We participate in a car-share program that furnishes among the most fuel-efficient vehicles available.
  • We turn off lights when not in use, especially in common areas and bathrooms.
  • We participate in a robust office recycling program.

Our purchasing policy aims to reduce environmental impact and conserve natural resources. We do this by:

  • Instituting practices that reduce waste by increasing product efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Purchasing products that minimize environmental impacts, toxics, pollution, and hazards to worker and community safety; and
  • Purchasing durable, long-lasting, and recycled products where available.
